GWT? What is that? Is that one more new Toolkit for Java after Swing and SWT?
No, GWT is Google Web Toolkit. WOW…........ :D
Updated: Not one day after its release, two Java frameworks (Tapestry and Wicket) have shown interest in GWT by viewing its mailing list conversation.
Google is an object of gossip now. For several days, there are many rumors say that Google will launch Google Health. You can read some of the entries here.
The fact is, Google does more than what people expect. There is no Google Health announced at Google Press Day 2006. As the substitution, Google gives Google Co-op where he give opportunity to everyone to have an advance search engine result by providing better and contextual result to the search. Google Health is only one of the result. Many others such as Autos, Computer and Video Games are being developed and we can expect the result in a short time.
What I want to emphasize is how Google not only surprises people who never give attention to him, he also surprises people who closely look at him. Google Press Day announces 3 new products and 1 update and nothing ever heard about them before.
This gives a good effect to customer. By giving more than what customers expect, Google ties them to wait for another surprises later.
You may have known some of the stories.
First of all, Google Calendar is rock! It has almost everything I want to be available from calendar. For you who haven’t tried it… Please just explore the functionalities. It definitely better than Outlook caledar :D.
Then, Google Maps and Google Earth are now showing streets detail in Europe, in Germany especially. The big satellite photos are also available in several countries in West Europe. That’s a great news, I can see the top of my building now! Wow… When will Indonesia have this?

Last, Google releases free version of 3D drawing tools, Google SketchUp. And this tool is really Google. It’s very easy to be used, even for a non-designer person like me!
However, I still wait for Google application for photo sharing. Flickr and Riya are just not Google enough for me :).
Google Calendar is launched. A full AJAX web application which just like other Google application, works well and intuitive.

Yahoo and Google are two giant players in the web industry. Both of them are have what is important in this age, that is INFORMATION. Their crawlers are working 24 hours a day finding what relevent and not found by their competitor.
Google and Yahoo are extending their network beyond their focus, search engine. Now they have too many products and services to be count. This site summarizes their products and services. In short, it says Google do task simpler, but sometimes we need a-not-simple solution, and Yahoo is better there.
Another site gives us as user more information instead trying both of them. This site not only try to compare, moreover it lists services and products found in one party and not found in the other. In the end, it says good thing about Yahoo, but leave the choice to the user.
Main product for both of them is their search engine. Let’s try to compare them! I search for “nanda firdausi”, Google returns 190, and Yahoo returns 113. Google is rocks! :D
How about comparing the results side by side? Too many site provide this. You can try this, this, this (this site using post action in the form :( ). But the most interesting user interface is given by this site, which draws graph based on the result.

News is getting more serious attention lately. Both Google and Yahoo have Google News and Yahoo News. They take different direction, where Google try to computerize the news picking mechanism, Yahoo is picking their news by human. Amazingly, news is faster appear in Yahoo than in Google.
